At last some non Cross results! - Elliot coming in 3rd at the Dulwich crits on Tuesday after joining and working with a breakaway group - way to go lad.
This does not in the least take away for the fine results results from Brinsbury last Sunday, admittedly running on a pretty short course, but none less a grand achievement with Max and Titouan both winning their categories and special mention to Max who came 3rd overall in the youth race. Havn’t seen the final rankings yet but fairly certain Titouan has the Boys Youth A wrapped up and I wouldn’t be surprised if Max has the Youth B - bravo the pair of you.
Saturday 6th February - Youth and Junior Road Rides
We will be running 2 separate Road rides this weekend, Mark will lead a youth ride and Dave and I will lead a longer and slightly faster Junior ride.
The youth ride will broadly follow the Dulwich Saturday route while the Juniors ride will be longer and be taken at a brisker pace.
Rides will be on the road so normal pack drill:
Helmets must be worn
BC HHYCC and/or DP Membership required
Bring spare inner tubes that fit your bike
Wear suitable clothing for the weather
Money for emergency buns
Food and water
The name and telephone number of an adult who can rescue you on a PIECE OF PAPER in your back pocket.
Parents and Guardians - please the contactable and available to rescue your charge should the need arise.
Sunday 7th February - Cross Team Champs
It’s going to be a great day, a well organised event with a good course and record turnout.
Teams will have now been finalized, if you’re a Junior or riding for Dulwich, check the Dulwich forum for confirmation and payment details, Bill will have contacted all riders racing for HHYCC. If you have been omitted from either club’s teams and want to race contact either Bill or myself NOW - do not leave it to Sunday, we both have enough to organise on the day .
Wednesday 27th - Dulwich Chain Gang
This week is an intermediate session and suitable for Juniors.
Thursday evening BC Cluster sessions
These sessions run by BC continue and are suitable for all youth A and B riders and come highly recommended if you want to race this year. Meet at the velodrome at 7.15 for a 7.30 start. Remember to bring a completed parental consent form (download from the youth section on the Dulwich Forum) and the £3 levy.
Ride Program for the next few months:
With the Cross season closing will be turning attention to the MTB and Road/TT season. The off road rides will become more MTB orientated and the road rides become longer and towards the late spring faster. Our aim is to prepare you for this year’s Crystal Palace Crits and the MTB season, which this year sees an extension to both the Mud Sweat Gear series and Beastway.
