My mind is blown, amazing effort.
Another local guy Rory 'bear' Kemper is now within 200 miles of the finish too and will probably finish late today or sometime tomorrow, dog chases, ice creme stops and broken spokes allowing. Rory by his own admission isn't built for climbing and dug deep to get through the mountains, that additional time has meant he picked up stonking headwinds the quicker riders managed to dodge in the latter stages, but he is going to do it.

Rory has just quit for the day with a mechanical (and a swimming pool), he needs to wait for a bike shop to open before tackling the last 118 miles.

Good news from another local rider, Jayne Wadsworth has also finished her second TCR and 3rd woman across the line.

Well done all!
I'd need extreme bribery to do another 7 day event, let alone this monster. Enjoy the celebrations and bath!

I'd like to add my congratulations too. It's been fascinating tracking the progress of the three of you during such an epic ride. Anything you do on a bike in the future will seem easy by comparison.
I have a feeling that the 'Best overseas ride' trophy has already been decided and will be shared this year.

Thanks guys! Seeing the DP twitter feed and general support from the club was fantastic. We're all ok but tired and swollen in all the key areas! It was a proper adventure and I've written a few little bits here: cykl.me/2016/08/13/2624/ - Impossible to convey everything but it might give you a taste. Hopefully see you all soon! x

Great write up James, as much as I dislike the term it did make me lol repeatedly (in a toilet cubicle at work) so well done for that too. Proper adventure.
