A big section of the flatlock stitching on my FRC shorts has unravelled making them unwearable... Does anyone know of a repairs service that has the right sewing machine to repair flatlock stitching on lycra? I've tried 5 local dry cleaners/tailors and none of them say they can do it. If anyone knows of an online service, or whether Giordana can do this kind of repair, I'd love to know. Any other suggestions very gratefully received!

Try splash dry cleaners in Herne Hill. They have repaired/modified a bit of cycling kit for me and they do a very good job.

OK, thanks a lot. Was it a stitching job?

Otherwise ask Rapha who they use as they did the same repair on Rapha shorts - came back looking perfect.

If the kit is under a year old send it back to me.
I'll return it to the manufacturers who will either repair it or replace it.
Note however that in a majority of cases the garment will be returned to Italy, so its not a quick process...........esp in August

Thanks Charlie. They're probably over 2 years old, though haven't had very much use and the stitching was never fully joined up (my fault - should have sent them to you for return to Giordana a long time ago!). I'll know for next time.

Hi jo If Charlie/giordana can't help you could try the incredibly talented seamstress Annie on 07956 527824. She's slightly bonkers but seems to be able to work all sorts of wonders and has v reasonable rates. Not a sports kit specialist but she did a brilliant job on my Gabba jersey. P
