Lots of places do them, there is a nice place in Westerham you could try if the club boxes are taken westerhamcyclery.co.uk/

We ditched hard boxes about 6/7 years ago as the baggage-manglers were smashing them to pieces. I think there is a subtle psychological effect with soft bags, which means they get treated more gently. Having said that, these are great bags, with lots of built-in protection - and plenty of room for DIY pipe-lagging and bubble-wrap if you're really concerned. They're relatively light and collapse down to save room-space while you're away. The club bags have travelled many hundreds of miles: to my knowledge no bikes have suffered en route.

Does anybody know if the club bags are compatible with thru axle bikes or do they rely on the frame sitting on its drop outs? Thanks

I've used the club bags a couple of times without any problems, Karim. I dont know about thru axles, but there is a firm, foam block under the bottom bracket that the frame sits on. It's then supported and lifted slightly by the straps that attach the frame to the side panel of the bag. They are missing something to stop the rear dropouts getting crushed together, but then I don't think that's ever happened. I just stuffed other bits like helmet and shoes between them. Like David says, the soft bags are treated with more 'respect'. These are the bags: www.wiggle.co.uk/evoc-bike-travel-bag-280-litres/

If you are desperate for a box rather than a bag then I have one I'm not using until September which you are welcome to borrow
