Yesterday's Wally Gimber was the 60th and having been involved with the race since 1980 as a rider, marshal and organiser I'd venture to say was the best yet. Congratulations and a huge vote of thanks to Patrick as organiser but thanks also go to all the club members who turned out in force to make it such a hugely successful day and did the club proud. All the officials seemed very happy with the day and the race maintained our reputation as a club that promotes top quality and safe events. I guess our challenge - and I'm sure we can meet it - will be raising the bar again in 2020.

Sneak preview of the race film, or rather "what it's like filming on a motorbike...."

Nice to see a bit of what happened in the race over and above the race radio version I had at the time 😁

Seconding Nigel's post. Perfect weather and a very good race, made possible by the seamless coordination of Patrick and Bob, allied to a team of DP volunteers, most of whom had done it before, turning in a polished and professional effort. And a special word of thanks to the AMS who controlled the junctions, keeping the riders and the accompanying convoy moving smoothly and safely.
We also had a visitor: Peter Symons, a club member from way back and a friend of the late Wally Gimber. Peter came over from California specially for the 60th edition of the race, bringing with him an old trophy which belonged to Wally (one of many he won) This trophy has now been redesignated as an award to the first U-23 rider home each year, and won for the first time yesterday by Joshua Aiken of Pedal Power Cycles Ipswich. Overall winner of the 60th consecutive Wally Gimber Trophy Race was Alexandar Richardson, with his Canyon dhb P/B Bloor Homes teamies 2nd and 3rd.
Thanks to all who helped make yesterday's event a huge success.
