My delightfully tasteful orange leg warmers keep falling down, not because of my so-called ‘chicken-legs’ but because despite them being genuine ‘Poc’ they have none of that funky gripper gel grippy stuff at the ends.
Does anyone know if you buy this grippy stuff or anything similar and apply it to clothing post-purchase?

Iron on Velcro circles. I’ve done this (seen on version) with my arm warmers...... obvs put the soft side on inside of shorts (or jersey) and the scratchy one on outside of warmer! Actually you can get ones where both are soft.

What kind of person wears leg warmers (ever?) but especially in summer? So wrong. #GetEmOff

This got me thinking - and bear with me because it sounds a bit out there...! My partner does a fair bit of knitting a lot and has used elastic thread in socks before. Might it possible to sew it in a set of rows? Provided you tension the thread beforehand, it should keep them up. Here's an example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp2OZNRyWEMIf your shorts cover them then it shouldn't give you any aero penalty. I'm fairly sure the legwarmers from Rapha et al use this, albeit in a more advanced way given they integrate it all at the factory stage. I don't know how much you'd use but it's £2.50 for a small roll which will probably be plenty! Good luck - I applaud your mission of upcycling!

I might not trust me with a sewing machine, or even a needle. But it’s clever!
