Advance notice!
Peter Cattermole of HH velodrome advised those of us who were left at the end of last Saturdays' session that a new training session is being introduced on Sunday mornings.
It is aimed at the more experienced riders and should provide more time on the track and harder training than on the rather overcrowded Saturday session.
I think he said it will run from 9:00 until 13:00.
Not sure when this will commence yet. I'll keep my ears open.

It is indeed in addition to the Monday evening sessions. It's good to have another option since there's no action if the track is wet.

Splendid news.
Anyone know if we need to join VCL as a second claim member to take part in these sessions?

Hi Alex, Nope, just rock up ... the general criteria is: 1. you must have completed a Saturday morning induction session 2. some of the sessions, e.g. the league nights, derny training ... you must have a BC racing license ... otherwise, generally, simply rock up, wear your Dulwich kit and pedal hard!

Top notch news this, I did hear the same going round as a rumour from Jason last Saturday and its nice to have it confirmed. It really is dangerously busy on Saturdays at the moment so it will be nice to have an extra session. In fact, the business of it is why I claim I managed to get dropped from the main bunch in both medium races this weekend....I got stuck behind some 'slower' people....honest

That looked fantastic fun Mark. Seemed like you had a lot of track time.
Knackered?
Kids with mummy and me joining you on the track next week for definite.
With the Monday session starting soon I can see the road bike gathering a fair bit of dust this summer!

Went to this morning's one for the first time, beautiful day, lots of riders, reasonable pace. We didn't do much different to a normal Saturday morning, except it was for longer (9.15ish to 12.15ish), not many breaks and the pace was strong, though not crazy. Still early season innit?!
Will try to make as many of these as poss, but likely only to be about 50% of the time - less easy to make it out on Sunday ...

This saturday was pretty good too as the weather put a lot of people off, but thankfully the track dried out pretty rapidly and we got a couple of hours to stretch our legs. If people can't make Sundays, Saturday mornings (10:30-1) are still a reasonable bet

I rode the first of the Monday training sessions last night.
About 30 down there - good time had by all.
