Salutations I recently invested in a Tacx Satori T1850 and noticed that rubber was coming off due to flywheel heat. Has anyone experienced this problem? I see on google that some people are using dedicated wheels though I'd prefer not to go down that route. What tyres are DP turbo nation using?

A smooth tyre is best. But I had this problem with a previous turbo and changing the tyres had no effect, even tyres designed for turbo use. It may be the turbo, because I get no rubber flying off with the Tacx Flow.

I had trouble with my Continental turbo specific tyre which just left tiny bits of rubber everywhere. I got them to replace the tyre and the new one they sent me was fine. Also check that you have your turbo calibrated properly (the flywheel pressed into the tyre the correct amount). They do generally get quite hot but shouldn't be melting your tyre. If you are still having problems then the Tacx forum on their website is usually quite helpful, or e-mail them and it may take a week to get a reply but they are very helpful.
Although it can be a pain to change the tyre all the time, I recommend using a Turbo specific tyre. It will save your road tyres, keep your turbo clean, make less noise and last a lot longer.

I had this problem (not sure about melting, but rubber going everywhere).
I got a specific turbo tyre and put it on a really cheap back wheel/ cheap cassette (second hand will do). The tyre is much better (no more rubber mess, and much quieter).
To justify this expense, do this calculation: Time changing tyres + clearing up+annoyance x your hourly rate The answer is hopefully more than cost of wheel+casette+turbo tyre.

prob best just to bite the bullet and get a dedicated tyre. i use a tacx one on a separate wheel/cassette. no problems whatsoever.
