Hi All,
Anyone have any recomendations on pedals.
I like Time, but recently upgraaded to Carbon RXS model. Now on my 2nd pair and the bearing have gone again - so back to the shop with them.
Any recommendations would be appreciated. Currently Speedplay are top of the list, but I keep hearing about them needing lots of maintenance!
Cheers,
Neil

Speedplay, and I adopt a no maintenance approach.

I have used Speedplay for a while. They do need a bit of looking after, but not much: just a quick check and grease every few weeks does the trick - it's easy and takes one minute.
I did wear one pair of bearings out, but that was after about 20,000 miles and they were still warrenteed. So that's good. Get them.

Never had any problems with Looks. Never had to lift a finger for maintenance.

It's got to be Look every time for me too. They don't have to be wildly expensive if you don't want them to be, indeed I've trained and raced for two years with some A3.1s (around £40) without a single problem.

Thanks Guys,
This helps - used to use Look, but prefer the being nearer the axel approach that Time and Speedplay seem to offer. My foot also used to roll slightly in Look pedals, so Speedplay it is!
Cheers,
Neil

I don't know if you aware of this but Time knew a defect on their pedals last year and asked all the customer to come back with them to be repair. I use Time And I haven't any issue with them since 2 generations.

Yup, I knew about the issue. First set I had, hadn't gone through the recall - second set had, but these also now have clicking bearings. Really like the pedals, but just a bit peaved!
Thanks,
Neil

I'm having a few problems with my left knee, using Shimano Ultegras. Is it worth changing to ones with some float? If so what ones have it.

Scott,
I think your best options are Speedplay or Time. Lots of float in both of these!
After my posts though I actually took two sets of RXS carbon Time padels back to the shop and reverted back to my Time magnesium pedals.
I might well take a look at Speedplay when I upgrade, but happy to run on my old pedals with no bearings probs!
Hope this helps
