Hello,
As per the subject I have two questions.
1. Is it within the British Cycling rules to race a bike on the road with cantilever brakes? 2. Has anyone administered the purchase of a bike through Ride 2 Work, as I work for a small company the administration of the scheme is likely to fall to me.
That is all but hopefully all being well I should be the proud owner of a new shiney bike. Cheers, James

1. Yes, absolutely no problem. If you saw any pictures of Paris-Roubaix, you'd have seen a fair few riders sporting them. Tres chic. 2. Administered, no, but Evans claim to make it easy-peasy and do all the hard work for you. There is also a conglomeration of independant shops with a similar scheme, if you don't wish to purchase from the meglomaniacs!

Cyclescheme (indies), Evans, Halfords (ugh) or Booost (don't bother), you have the choice. The first 2 on this list provide very clear explanations of their schemes in leaflets and on their websites. I have found Cyclescheme to be very helpful on the phone. You may need to involve the book-keeper/accountant/financial director. It's pretty simple, really, unless you are, like me, getting it introduced in an NHS Trust. But that's another story...

oh Guy I don't envy you, having done a bit of reading and been sent some information by the bike supplier it seems pretty straight forward is it just an agreement to lease between you and your employer. Anyway we shall see what the man in charge says when he sees the forms on his desk on Monday with a proforma invoice....

My company a medium sized ad agency (0f 150 people) decided it was cheaper to give staff an interest free loan (like the travel loans) and allow for more flexibility in choice of store etc. Having participated in a cycling scheme I think they are correct as it is a hassle and not everyone wants to shop at Evans or Halfords.
