Recently my Garmin 305 has been recording some freakishly high heart rates when out riding. i thought it may be the battery needing replacing or a faulty device but just googled the problem and found this thread www.bikeforums.net/archive/index.php/t-273255.htmlanyone else found the same problem? it seems loose fitting tops in the wind will cause havoc!

I also have, but only with running HRM's. it's nothing to do with static electricity or power lines, it's that the contacts need to be slightly moist to conduct your heart electricity. on cool, dry days or fast descents it'll dry out and "skip" beats, that's why it reads v high. you've just got to keep it moist somehow. interesting suggestion of putting it on your back out of the wind. or splash some water on it from your bottle.
