Here we go then mud-lovers. Round 1 is this Sunday.
It's one of the best courses on the calendar, so well worth making the effort to get down there if you can.

Going to this one and may have a space in the car, although wife and baby are looking to come along and have a day out, so i'll be heading out early and leaving late.
Perverts, I mean who wants to go to Fowlmead for a day out?! Apart from to ride a bike.....

Planning to do this one as well. I've never been to Fowlmead. It doesn't sound enticing.
Bafflingly Karen wants to come and watch, so that means I've got a full van unfortunately.

Well that's gratitude for you. So you don't want me on spare wheel duty?

It's a good course, although more suited to the stronger less technical riders. The drag away from the start finish is really sapping and then there is the opportunity to get lost in the woods (I think a couple of the team managed to go off course last year). I'm assured by Kevin that the BMX bumps are great fun, although they didn't include them last season (maybe this time?).
Good luck to you all.

Well that's gratitude for you. So you don't want me on spare wheel duty? You'll need a bucket and brushes as well so that you can wash Kev and Andy's spare bikes during the race; I'm sure Richard will also require you to clean his bike ready for putting back in the van!

Well that's gratitude for you. So you don't want me on spare wheel duty? I think this is what you call washing your dirty linen (lycra) in public - literally. Now he's been reborn as Rick he'll be basking in C list celebrity status in readiness for the 3 peaks

Given a lack of suitable transport and undoubted likelihood of being pretty drunk the night before, I shall not be attending this one. Shame, as it was the site of my newbie glory last year.

I'd really like to race but i too am lacking transport. Can anyone offer a lift? (i only get back from holiday on sat evening so going out for the whole day with matt isn't really an option)

results are up on the xleague site.
No idea of points and stuff but i'm guessing as its a league we get a load and feel good about the suffering.
bloody love this stuff! need to do some more practice of how to ride off the tarmac but its great fun.. Already need to spend more money on tyres for wet conditions apparently. Thanks Kevin!

What happened in this race? I can see only one DP rider; the venerable Mr Codrington.

I finished 19th and Matt 23rd, but for some reason we haven't been put down as Dulwich riders. Charlie was somewhere further down having punctured and resumed.
The other four (I think) Paragons punctured and did not finish.
That's one fun course.

Cracking good fun, on a very varied course. Dusty and windy made for interesting conditions on certain sections, some parts sheltered from the wind but very gravelling under tyre. other sections getting battered by the wind.
For my first league race I did pretty well, managed to gain places throughout the race so really need to learn how to start well otherwise this could be a recurring theme.
Rich did very well to follow instructions from his coach (=wife) and get a top 20 place. Great ride.
Going to miss the next round but loko forward to round 3 in north london on 4th Oct
