Looking for a frame to build up into a single-speed. Doesn't have to be cosmetically perfect but it does have to be 54/56cm - and it would help if it had track ends. Modest amount of cash available...

depends on what you call modest...
i've got a 126 drop out (horizontal / sloping geared frame) steel rossin which is in fair but used condition. would be looking @ 200 for it. comes with hatta h/set.
my friend has my old track colnago which is structurally good but would benefit from a re-spray. you could probably get it off him for 350 & that is a bargain compared with ebay for a genuine article. 120 drop out. I think he has a choice of forks for it as well (brakeless or drilled).

Thanks for the suggestions. When I saw modest, I mean modest... (ie less than 100) Scott - thanks for the offer on the Quest. I'm really hoping to luck into horizontal dropouts, so I'll give it a bit longer if you don't mind. And generally - as long as the frame is sound, I'm not too bothered about the paintwork. Ta.

David - it might be worth sniffing around the bike store sheds at Herne Hill as clubs including the DP have occasional clear outs. The only problem is I suspect every born yesterday 'fixie' enthusiast may have the same idea.....
