Your rear-mech is still attached, so I take it conditions weren't too muddy - how'd you all get along?

Official results are still pending, but here's the senior race in brief:
Team Blue Streak (presented by inner tubes) Storming start by all, unfortunately Michael suffered a puncture 1km in - and Alex suffered the same fate 1km from the finish. Dave and Kevin however still rode like men possessed, but it was all for nought due to time being taken across 3 riders.
Team Blue Train/Blue Rinse Andy had a cracking start and rode strong and steady all race to post a good time. Behind, I settled into a routine of crash, sprint to catch up, crash, repeat - until Charlie convinced me that you ride faster when upright and we both worked together to pass as many folk as we could while staying vertical. Mark followed a similar strategy behind so we finished as a full team.
Team Blue Bird The team of youth and beauty (Charlie really should have been on this team) also rode well to finish intact as a full foursome. Joe get's stronger every race, and once he takes a leaf out of my book and spends more time upright he'll be flying! Beth had a solid ride as the sole female DP representative, With Kaspur representing on the MTB (respect!) and Stan's flowing locks cutting through the field in trademark fashion.
All in all a great day out and a good team showing for the Paragon. Great course too this year, just the right amount of climbing, minimal field slog, and plenty of tricky twisty turns.

Congratulations to all- especially Dave for an amazing result. It was a wicked day out- thanks to ALL for support and encouragement and of course to Charlie for organising! Next year it would be great to have a full ladies team- I came home 3rd woman in a reasonably respectable time, and got over the fear of the steep bank on the second lap! This is only after 1 previous cross race before and some skills training at cyclopark.
The support not only from the spectators but also the other riders racing was brilliant. Not to mention the home made chocolate brownies afterwards! Can't recommend enough- just make sure you turn up with your legs on the day.
Will post more details to drum up interest in ladies cross and mtb shortly.
Cheers
Beth
