Hi all, Has anyone ever done, or have any experience/knowledge of the Brighton Big Dog event? www.brightonbigdog.com/Considering entering the pair competition with my girlfriend and wondered about the type of terrain on the circuit, is it doable on a hardtail or would full suspension be helpful? Alvaro

Looking at all the photos from the site, it seems most people are riding hardtails, so I'm guessing it's not a particularly technical course.

It's a tough course. Some longish, steep climbs and descents. There are technical climbs with trees and tree roots on single track. I rode on a hardtail and had no issues. It's got a bit of everything, singletrack, fire roads and grassy areas. Good fun though and very relaxed.

I walked most of it. I'm not built for mountain biking anymore. I too fat for the uphills and too scared for the downhills.

I wouldn't Michael. It's very much an MTB course.

I'm trying to decide whether to part with my 10+ year old Cannondale and update it. I fear that it's me that needs the upgrades.

Hey, I destroyed that rim because it was worn through! 2 years commuting and 3 seasons of cross will do that.
