I havent been on the forum for ages, but spotted this thread. I would be really interested to do some training rides etc. I have a hardtail MTB and try to get to Swinley, Bedgebury and further afield when I can. I competed towards the end of the season in the London X League, which I really enjoyed! So much so, I'm getting a cyclocross bike sorted this summer!

Hi guys I'm still waiting for some potential dates for training but will come back soon hopefully... For now, thoughts I would just flag Alvaro's post, I'm planning to go on May 30th if anyone else fancies coming for a try! Hi all, The Bedgebury Series starts this coming Saturday, which is fairly cheap to enter and a short drive away from South East London: www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/125664/Bedgebury-Forest-MTB-Series-2015-Event-1I'll be there entering the Senior category. I've ridden quite a lot in the Bedgebury Forest red loop, but the races are done off-piste, so unsure on terrain. The event page describes it as "Short Course MTB XC mainly non technical singletrack Ideal as introduction to Racing", so any gents or ladies wanting to give XC racing a go for the first time may want to try this one out. Just a quick heads up, Lucy and I did this race on Saturday and it was great fun - it's a short course which you do around 7 laps of, there are no technical elements to it, just lots of windey singletrack, so it's the perfect place to try out XC racing - Lucy was in the lead until she got a puncture, which is a bit of a shame! Next round is on Saturday 30th May - www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/127993/Bedgebury-Forest-MTB-Series-2015-Event-2

Perfect Thanks Alvaro and bad luck to Lucy! I am planning on racing on the 30th if any other Paragonettes want to come along! My nephew (5) and niece (10) also raced the last one. They'll both be at the race on the 30th so they will happily show us how it is done...!
I'm sure we could manage a pub lunch afterwards...
There is also mtb hire at Bedgebury.
Please shout if you are planning on coming and we can look at transport.
I am currently looking at dates for training and will post separately. This will not be before the 30th but do not be put off of just having a go!
Cheers, Beth

Bike hire details: www.quenchuk.co.uk/#!bike-hire/cpll Bedgebury Park has a massive cafe by a lake that does warm food, as well as the usual cake and coffee. Worth noting that car parking is a whooping £10, so the more you fit into a car, the more economical it'll be - We can carry a few extra people if anyone's based around Eltham/Sidcup. If the legs still have anything left after the race, I'd thoroughly recommend a run through the red loop for a bit of off-road fun. Alvaro
