Flicking through a recent copy of Ciclo Turismo magazine my eye was caught by the picture of Ivan Basso below. Something odd about it, I sensed, but it was a while before I realised what it was. (I've cropped 2/3rds off the top & right, just to make things a bit more obvious, so you don't waste too much precious lunch-hour viewing).

Mr Anne?... If you look closely you can just pick out the potato in his jersey.

I remember Anne saying about riding next to Basso on the ride. It's a shame they cropped the picture. Apparently Basso made it look super effortless whilst everyone else was puffing and panting just to keep up. Not surprising really.

There's a Serrl 3/4 on the 30th July at Kenardington. It's only 80k so he should cope with the distance. These road racing can get rather quick especially if you're not used to it but as long as he can stick with the bunch and concentrate on going forward then he'll be fine.
Someone should tell him that he won't be able to get away with wearing that kit in Serrl races. Not sure what the stocks are like but I'm sure Bob has a few jerseys left.
I know I really think Tiger Tim can do something this year. Henman Hill is is going be mental.
Come on Sue Barker.

This is indeed me in the San Remo cyclo sportive (110 Km of pure joy). My bulging left pocket is filled with potatoes! Do you have the contact details of this magazine? If so I'd like to try and get some more pics.
