More fine racing on Sunday on a remarkably dry and firm Sumners Ponds, Little Joe winning in Youth B, Max a creditable 6th in a strong Youth A field supported by Jules and Harry. Later in the Juniors, Ed rode an incredible strong race coming in second and giving several strong seniors a run for their money.
Saturday 8th October No youth or Junior rides
Regrettably we don’t have enough coaches to run any rides this weekend, Junior riders are encouraged to join the standard Dulwich Paragon ride which starts at 9 am and Youth riders should join the HHYCC 11 o’clock session.
Sunday 9th October Rd3 London Cross League - Happy Valley - Brighton
Close cropped grass circuit in a shallow combe, generally a fast race with loads of sneaky corners.
Mid week Evening Training
Tuesday Evening - BC Cluster Sessions
Start at 6pm and run through to 7.30 pm, this is a very well planned progressive series of ROAD bike training sessions on the track. Open to any rider aged 12 and above who is racing or has aspirations to so. I cannot recommend these session highly enough - there is a totally proven correlation between attending these sessions regularly and improved riding skill, race results and overall fitness.
As these are British Cycling organised sessions you will need a parents consent form for the first session you attend (attached) and a fee - which I believe is £3 a time - take a fiver to be sure.
Wednesday Evening - Dulwich Paragon Chain Gangs on Track and CX training
2 options :
Either Juniors can join the Road bikes on track chain gang, led this week by Paul Mills
Or
Join the CX session on the trails at the back of the velodrome.
Both sessions start at 7pm and finish at 9 - if you are planning to attend the CX session a decent front lamp is essential - you will be unceremoniously thrown out if you do not have sufficient lumens.
Saturday 15th October Dulwich Hill Climb
This is one of those love hate events - incredible simple concept, you start at the bottom of the hill and ride up it as fast as you can. This year we revisit Star Hill which is still as high and as delightful as it was last year.
We will be leading a ride to it and encouraging you to join in the fun. Event is entry on the day and is open to Dulwich and HHYCC members.
