Those of you with long-ish memories might remember that we organised the National Criterium Championships at Crystal Palace way back in 1994. In the last year or so, it's been at the back of my mind as a worthy project to consider again. Michael Moore, the tall, sprightly gentleman who organises the 'Palace series, quite independently suggested something similar this evening.
So - opinions, thoughts, should we make further enquiries?

Sounds like a fine idea but I don't really know what it involves. Do I get to stand at the bottom of a hill with my very own red flag or is it just ritual humiliation by even better riders than usual? And by the way whatever happened to the Le Tour de Peckham?

Sounds like a great idea. BCF are always moaning that they struggle to get organisers. Could we get TFL involved and link it to the build up to Le Tour? Oh, and what happens in the event of rain?

It sounds like a good idea to me too - I'm guessing there is more to this than just saying "sounds good" though -- there would be some work and responsibility associated with the suggestion - certainly for Bob, but for the club as a whole? What would be expected of us, and can we meet the expectations?

Even though I'm only a very junior member of the club with bugger all experience of cycle racing I would be happy to volunteer my time if you thought you might need it.
Regarding TFL, you should speak to Gary about it seeing as he works for them.

Sign me up! I am always foolish enough to volunteer for anything.
