Has anyone heard the last Johnny Cash song “I`m Free From The Chain Gang Now” on his latest and final album “American V: A Hundred Highways” which was recorded on his death bed. . I got rid of the shackles that bound me and the guards that were always around me...
I prayed that the gossip will spare me when I return to the one I will marry Like a bird in a tree I got my liberty and I'm free from the chain gang now
A rather extreme way to get out of meeting up at Elmers End on a Tuesday and Thursday I thought, I usually use the excuse of work commitments but whatever works for you I suppose but certainly a warning message to us all don’t you think David, Sean, Steve?

Why not use the excuse that you have to race at the Palace this evening? See you there?

All day long they work so hard Till the sun is goin' down Working on the highways and byways And wearing, wearing a frown You hear them moanin' their lives away Then you hear somebody sa-ay
That's the sound of the men working on the chain ga-a-ang
