Does anyone own (or used) an ultrasonic cleaner for chains, cassettes etc?
If so, are they any good/ do you have any recommendations? They seem to fall into two categories - cheap Chinese jewellery cleaners, to larger industrial type things. Is there a happy medium? And no, an old toothbrush and elbow grease is not the alternative option I'm seeking.

I do both. I use a small ultrasonic cleaner I bought on Ebay a few years ago. It’s called GT Sonic, was about £30. Internal size is about 15x15x15cm. Just big enough for a road cassette. Works magic with a drop of washing up liquid in hot water. If your chain is really dirty you need to be patient. I use several baths of 15 min, changing the solution in between. If you wax your chain you’ll never have that old sticky grime you get with oil. I use Molten Speedwax. It’s great, no more sticky chain. It takes a few hours to clean and rewax every 500km or so but not hands on. Or more often if it’s wet or muddy.
