If those are true average speeds and not average maximum speeds, consider coming on a chaingang. See discussion in other threads, and the "Whats on" section of the main website. As far as decent routes go, the Ride of the Falling Leaves route (or our summer chaingang route) is probably the best way to get out of london towards the southeast.
