Do past Etapers have any tips on getting places for next year's event? Myself, Scott and Rachel are thinking of doing it next year and are just starting to look at the best way to get places.
Any others up for doing it as well?

I did it with Baxters one year which works out very expensive www.sportingtours.co.uk/ their places will sell out very quickly You could try Ron www.etape.org.uk/Sometimes the logistics can be a real pain so I'm not planning to do it again. However the Granfondo Campagnolo looks tempting.....

Steve - do you have any more info on the Granfondo Campagnolo? There may be enough interest to get a trip organised to a sportive that is not the Tour of Flanders (though I'm not suggesting skipping Flanders, just targetting another one that might be fun).

I would be interested in doing the granfondo campagnolo - surely much less of a bun fight than the e'tape?
I realise having done an event for the first tim ethis year that more people isn't always better! Especially 8000 more people

Grand fondo's are great as they start and finish in the same town, unlike the etape
also 3 routes normally short/med/long, if you feel bad half way round you can bail out and join one of the shorter rides.

There's quite a few people at the gf campagnolo, but it isn't anything like what I understand the etape to be. You can always ride the hills, for instance.
