Now that everyones talking about granfondos, etapes, etc I thought that I would mention this one. I've not done it but it's something I've wanted to do the past few years. 3 distances and not as hilly as the etape and granfondo but still a tough one. It would be easy for me to arrange for us to stay at the Chalet we had last year in Chamonix if there's interest in it. It usually coincides with the Dauphine Libere race, so there would be the possibility of following that race for a stage or two depending on it's route. No dates announced as yet but when they are i'll post them up here. Here's the route info from last year. The Megeve sports club website has some more info, including photos of Virenque pinning numbers on riders. Alain Prost rode it last year, probably a touch slower than he's used to. www.csportsmegeve.com/

Mmmm, this looks good too. I like the idea of combining it with a week or two's riding in the mountains.
With Chamonix being directly connected to the Italian motorway network, and Venice being about 200 miles down the motorway, it could be feasible to do both, with a week's holiday in between.

yeah I'd love to do a sportif next year. This one looks a smasher.
If the trip goes ahead please put me down for a place.

Hi Kevin, I am very interested in taking part in this sportif. Unfortunately I would need to fly back on the sunday night because I need to be back in the office on the Monday (11th june I think?).
Would you mind if I joined you? Rgds. David.

I'd be interested as well.
I am flexible about dates though.
