Yes, I know it may not be a good time to raise the subject, with the Christmas Day binge still being - burp - a not-very-distant memory, but I thought we should start sorting out the club dinner.
Received opinion - from those I have polled so far - seems to be that a return to The Green would find favour. Any dissenters or should we go for it?
I was thinking of early-mid Feb. Wondered which day of the week people would be keenest on? Monday night, Thursday or Friday?

Bob , shall I ask Robert ( the owner of The Green) for some prices, availability for Fridays in Feb. etc. Shall I also try to skip the financial cock-up that we ( I ) made last year regarding having to ask people for their jewellery at midnight to settle up!

Greig - yes please, that would be tremendous. My guess would be to go for 9th or 16th. Personal preference would be 16th as I can then get more info / reminders out to people in the post at the beginning of Feb (club subs renewal reminders will be going out).
If Robert can give menu options, then I can put up a web page for people to select these in advance and either pay a deposit or the whole cost.
I think for drinks, we should just get people to buy them strictly from the bar, so all we have to settle up for is Y x the menu price.

Spoken to Robert ( the Green ),either date he believes is fine, he,s in France at the moment, coming in to talk to me tomorrow regarding menus, prices, etc.

Well, it's all sorted! Grieg has very kindly gotten us booked into The Green for Friday 9th Feb (7:30pm for 8). And on top of that has negotiated a spectacular menu. Head for the main website ( www.dulwichparagon.com) to get details of the choices, to make your reservation on line (or print the form off and do it the traditional way by post/cheque). |

Can I just say thanks to the organising committee for a very enjoyable evening - it all went off very well, food was good & great to see so many members - old, young & new. Same place next year?
