I don't suppose anyone out there has an old, spare, rickety, rusty turbo trainer or rollers that still happen to work and I could possibly purchase for a small fee???

Hey up Laurence I have a non working but complete (bar the skewer) Tacx Grand Excel computer trainer, top unit in its day. It will run freely but no resistence, I think the motor circuit board may have a faulty component. In this state I guess it is the equivalent of a roller. Parts are available and here is the url if you want to pursue this. tinyurl.com/bq3228¬¬¬

Hello there - thanks for the info! Although I'm not sure I would have the expertise to fix it...
How much would you want for it? You reckon it may be fairly straightforward to fix?
cheers

Given that it was a top unit, I've spent an inordinate amount of leisure time riding it and it now no longer works correctly I think it will command a cost to you of a penny.
