Bob is completely snowed under with club stuff at the moment and is looking for a couple of volunteers to start organising a club dinner. I will put my hand up, but if a couple more of you are willing to help that would be great. For those who don't know, cycling club dinners are traditionally held some time in late Jan/Feb.

I thought club dinners were traditionally held at the end of season? Our one seems to be a bit out of pace with the rest again.... If we keep our tradition up we might have some people falling over as in every race, although this time the reason might be slightly different. Nick's brother made a short film with some paragonistas in it, might be worthwhile to show before, after or during the dinner.

Happy to help Phil. We could talk through a strategy on the bike on sunday if you're going to be out.

I am away for a few days, but we can start to get the organisation going on my return. I should be out week Saturday.
Perhaps people could start to indicate the sort of establishment they would prefer, max price, type of food etc.

Were people happy with the the Picture Gallery cafe last year? If we can press them a bit on price and keep to two musicians rather then three (as Oscar has suggested) it might be a goer. Might be worth exploring with them after the saturday ride.
For me, I'm sigining off for a few weeks, but will try to catch up with Julene, Kevin and Nic while I'm away.

I wasn't that impressed with the Picture Gallery. The food was okay but not particularly good value for money. I'd prefer to try somewhere else this year.
Someone, perhaps Greg, suggested La Chardon. The food is very good there but it may be a little pricey. Or there's the EDT. Or Piaf, next to the Dog. Never been there myself but somone else, can't remember who, said it was okay.
Whatever, let's not go to The Restaurant

I know Robert who owns Le Chardon Le Chardon would be mighty fine. Don't they also own The Green on East Dulwich Road?

Robert has dropped in two menus from both The Green and Le Chardon both starting at £20.95 for three courses, assuring us of his best attention should we book.
