Hey Todd, I'm sorry. I've just looked on the members list and you're definitely not down as having paid. You need to contact Guy to sort out what's gone wrong if you did pay back in October. Having glanced at the online membership list, Todd's not the only member who's not on the list. Counting Todd, there are at least five other people who I know are active members but are not listed. Oh, and I can also vouch for Todd's mechanical skills. The big advantage of using Todd is that he is a known quantity. Book your bike for a service elsewhere, and you don't know who's working on your bike. The membership list is updated regularly by Guy so it's pretty much up to date with fully paid up club members give or take a few weeks for new members applications. If names you expect to see aren't on there it's because they haven't renewed. We're over halfway through the year so it's very, very late for renewals...

I did speak to Guy at one of the meetings a while ago. I paid £100 a couple of years ago and am not on any list I can see Should I be taking a hint?

Steve, you need to speak to Guy about this and get it sorted out.

I think we should be cautious assuming that not being on the membership list = not having paid up. As with StevieP, I paid up a life-membership a few years back and still got a reminder telling me to renew my membership this year... it happens!

I think that you still need to send back the renewal form each year, even for life membership (but obvously you don't need to pay) just so that everyone's contact details are keep up to date. The membership list should be definitive, if it's wrong then it needs sorting out, that's Guy's job.

I have a seriously stuck seatpost which I think may require soaking in some chemical or other to reverse the alluminium oxidization (or something along those lines!).
is this something you could sort out? If so roughly how much and how long? I would need it done somethime in July.

I thought I'd update this thread as I've recently had two bikes built up by Todd. I must recommend him to anyone looking to have their bike repaired/tweaked. For a very reasonable price Todd has carried out the work tip top fashion, with the results better than I'd hoped. He was also helpful with other repairs not in the original brief.
If you're not able to do the work yourself and you haven't found a shop/mechanic you're happy with, call Todd.

kieron> have you got another bike or are you talking about that giant you were riding towards the end of the summer?
have you sorted your fitting and comfort issues now too?

Hi Nick. I did get a new bike for the winter, but I had the new groupset from that put on the giant, hence the two builds.
The aches and fit issues have been sorted with a bit of trial and error. I couldn't really afford a pro fitting so I tweaked a bit til things improved. Counter intuitively the more I lowered the handlebar height the less pain I got in the lower back. I think most of the problems are to do with my back being a bit twisted by years of playing guitar with bad posture.
