Whilst it has taken a bit of time, i received a brand spanking new pair of Ultremo R.1s which are the revised version following the product recall. I was massively impressed with the customer service from Schwalbe as in the interim they sent me a pair of stelvios and inner tubes, and then the R.1s as soon as they had been signed off the production line and a cookie saying 'sorry' for the initial problem. All this and i only actually had one dud Ultremo R. Absolutely top class and i will be sure to continue buying tyres from them.

Totally agree: amazing customer service. also:
I totally shredded 2 of the "old" ultremos coming down the alps last summer and they kept on working even when they were down to the bead and the bump was pretty hot, so I don't believe they're that dangerous when they go (that's not a recommendation of course).
The Ultremos are awesome tyres, far and away the best I've used. Can't wait for the snow to go so I can try out my new R1's.
The cookie was really tasty and big enough for 2!
