Not long ago I was writing to tell you about an ambitious aim of making organised cycling available to every child in the borough of Bromley. Well, after much hard work we now have a network of three Go-Ride clubs in Bromley: Penge Go-Ride, Bigfoot Go-Ride (Hayes) and The Priory School, Orpington (a nice west-east spread). Their first annual competition day will take place on 18 July, to which I would like to invite you.
Obviously this is to show off with pride what we, adults and children, have learned in the first term of operation. But we also want to draw more clubs into the orbit, to create even more opportunities for junior cycling. A broader base of cycling will benefit the community as well as professional cycling in the long term.
Please share with your club these details: the competition is from 10 to 1 on Saturday, 18 July, at Pickhurst School, Pickhurst Lane, West Wickham BR4 0HL, includes a skills course, MTB and track races, and is followed by a BYO picnic. I've even attached a poster!
