Well, it will probably seem a bit tame after Muddy Hell, but who is making the trek down to Dover this weekend? It is a great course if you haven't ridden it before. Well worth the trip.

Can i have a lift please kevin he you're going? Still not raced cross at fowlmead and would like to. Talking about getting back to earth with a bang, the inter areas on sunday was really depressing after muddy hell. Signing on in a broom cupboard and literally one man and a dog spectating. Miserable. The super tesco over the road was jam packed however. We were talking about it on the drive and we reckoned that if you want a good race 25% of your effort goes into stuff for the riders, and the remaining 75% of your effort goes into catering for spectators. Most organisers aren't doing it for money though so why bother with the extra effort...

No problem with a lift down there Andy. Are you taking both bikes? If not I can take one other person.

Darn it. I didn't realise this was on so I said the 'rents could visit this weekend. The visit might mean that Papa Beddis joins us for cross training on Sat...he's a seasoned pro at the Peaks (well, he was a few years ago anyway) so we'll see how he goes. W ill many be out on Sat for a couple of hours?

I'm picturing a scene from Meet The Parents as David goes all out to impress a stern faced Old Man Beddis with his haphazard cyclo cross skills, falling and failing at every turn. I'm tempted to come on saturday just to spectate.

I'm tempted to come on saturday just to spectate. It's alright Andy, we've already had that 'moment' a few months back in Yorkshire. Whilst there wasn't any falling off or any attempts to impress, 'Old Man Beddis' put both of us to shame on some sections with his trusty old-school titanium Marin mountain bike. 'Haphazard cyclo-cross skills' indeed! (Only at night, dressed as a skeleton!)... I trust you'll be wearing your new silver skinsuit then on Saturday?!
