Can I also point out that this week's race starts at 1pm. Wouldn't want any muppets turning up at 2...

wow, that was MESSY.
Can't blame the publicly transported for giving it a miss - It would have required three or four sets of kit (and shoes) to do by train. Horrific.
Looking forward to the photos though. It will look like something from the WW1 trenches

Yes it was muddy, but a good mud - the kind that's wet enough to not stick too much. No mechanicals or punctures so I was fairly happy with how it panned out.
Normally, I fall to pieces in the mud and although I didn't do as well as the past few races I didn't give up. I had a storming start but it turned out be a little overenthusiastic as I lost all of the places that I took by the end of the first lap. By the final lap I thought that I had the vets race all sewn up until Doug Fox blasted past me on the penultimate tarmac section. He took me completely by surprise but I held his wheel to the line only to be outsprinted to the finish yet again by a 50+ vet! I really have to start training as it's getting a little embarrassing.
Looking forward to seeing the photos also. By the end my fingers had lost all feeling, so much so that I couldn't undo my shoes.
Oh yeah! Great to see Simon Bird out doing his first cross race, it was really kind of Phil to lend you his bike Simon. Are you going to give it back to him?

More importantly, are you going to clean it?

IT's good to see someone using it properly. Phil would have walked round that corner.

Ouch! that was painful to sit through. 5:45 was my highlight of it.

You was robbed. And I don't mean in the children's mudpit race.
I mean by Richard Wright. That image is the true Turner Prize winner.
