Fantastic results for the Paragon at Herne Hill today. Congratulations to Kev and Mark B on their fourth and eighth place finishes respectively. Gotta be chuffed with that. Doing us proud..........

Cheers Gareth, twas tough but I always find CX tough! Storming performance from Kevin B...well done.
A good course with the ascent of 'death hill' clogging up the shoes with mud and causing some cleat engagement issues before the sharp drop down to the railway wall section.
I'm getting closer to my goal of not being lapped by Matt Seaton.

After over 30 years of racing & riding on the road I thought I'd give cross a try. Having ridden just the 5 laps of the novice race I've now got total respect for the cross regulars. Great rides by the DPers in the main event. Camilla, our newest woman member, was also in the novice race and said she enjoyed it. Just need Maria to persuade her to sign up for the team race Finally, sorry Kevin for putting a curse on you by shouting 'looking good' moments before you hit the ground. Great recovery though!

Thanks chaps. It's good to be making a little bit of progress. First time I've ever won any money at cross. Might even be a cross point awarded. Roll on the next one.

Well done Guys. Terrain did look a bit sticky. Shame I missed you Camilla - I hadn't realised you were doing the novice race and when I turned up half way through the main race you'd already gone. Hope to catch up soon.
By the way, I picked up prize money for those who weren't there at the end:
Melissa - money for placing in the women's race Mark B - money for placing in the vets race and overall
I can either give it to you at Elmers End on Wednesday night, The Bishop pub (Lordship Lane) on Thursday night or Cafe St Germain next Saturday morning. Melissa I could just put the envelope through your door as you're only 2 streets from me.
Let me know what suits you.

For placing last? And the small matter of riding appallingly badly. My face the whole way round was like this I am on the ride on Wednesday, if you're coming down? I'm away from Thursday, not back till Monday night.

I will come down to Elmers end tonight for the start and give you your cash. I don't know how long I will last today though. I'll see how it goes.
By the way, Charlie Blackman now lives in our area and has said she'll be coming out on these rides. She's likely to be there next week.
