Just seen that Kevin finished seventh in the vets race - only 3 mins down on the winner Chris Young. Delia was 15th in the womens race and it looks as if Andy was 51st in the Elite event so good rides all round.
How about a race report when you're all back and cleaned up?

Kevin smashed it. Very impressive, especially starting from the the fourth row.
Delia did very well in her first race at anything like that level - london league courses really don't prepare you for Trophy level racing - and should be really pleased with that result. Top 15 in the country is nothing to be sniffed at!
I crashed three times on the first lap then lost the plot :-( David Rees was missing in action

Yes, a superb ride from Delia who thought that she was last, but in fact there had been 25 starters and she had moved up ten places by the end of the first lap. For a first national trophy race that's a great starting point to build from.
I would have been happy with a top 20 in the vets race so when by the end of the first lap I was in 5th place with the lead 4 still not far ahead I got a but carried away, after that I started to drop back. The rest of the race saw me slowly losing grip of the leaders and I dropped back loosing two places to finish in 7th. Thoroughly enjoyed it and hopefully I will start to get gridded a little higher that 4th row in the Nationals, well see...
David discovered the shoulder to shoulder fighting that you get at the beginning of the trophy race, full respect to him for giving it a go sadly David packed after coming off of his bike one too many times on the opening lap. Andy also suffered several crashes early on but fought on. It gave us a chance to practice a bike change which was performed very slickly and assisted by Beddis senior. Sadly Andy was lapped shortly after that by the race leaders just as he was settled into a good rhythm.
Finally, a big thanks to Andy for driving me up to Bradford.

I propose sending a Dulwich Supporters Club to Birmingham on the second weekend of Jan for the National Champs. Kevin has a very high chance of getting on the podium in the 40-45category, so get on your DP bobble hats - see Daid JB - and someone book a mini-bus!

Let's have some of this! I'm not racing on the Saturday so I'll gte involved. @julene (to borrow from Twitter) you need to get some Knox branded Union Jacks for the Nationals.

Just noticed this from Dave Haygarth on flickr, the blue dot in the background is me in 5th place just behind Chris Young (the winner) at the end of the first lap. I really should have dug deeper to stick with them.

Well done Kevin and Delia (so brave!).
Commisserations for head butting trees Andy. Was it one of those "now ....don't look at the tree, don't look at the tree....boof" moments?

The video is very long and boring. I'm in there at the beginning but if you go to about 8 mins in you'll see me and hear our own Andy Waterman shouting encouragement!
