Title says it all. I've had a bad (lower) back for the last three weeks or so and no amount of stretching seems to be sorting it out, so I need to go and see someone.
If you've got a recommendation I'd be glad to hear them. Ideally based between Dulwich and Croydon.

OK, booked mysefl in at CPSIC - I've been there before and its on my way to work so makes sense.
I reckon I've also worked out what the problem is - tight iliopsoas from sitting down too much.

Ive used Balance in Clapham before - with my knee problem, they diagnosed and helped cure the problem within about 4 sessions. Not cheap, but good! www.balancephysio.com/x

Unless you specifically need physio, I think you get better value for money from a good sports massage. You get double the length of time for the same price, and they can take time to work slowly on a problem area. I've also got tight psoas (amongst other problems!), and what was a lot of deep pressure massage and stretching at sports massage was a single finger with the entire physio's weight at Dulwich Physio. Both released the tension, but the sports massage was better at teaching the muscles to stay relaxed. I can recommend one in town if anyone wants.

CPSC is the way to go. Ben has been treating me and another chap I ride with from Elitecycling for lower back pain. Religiously increasing core strength seems to be working for me (and the other chap). You may even want to have a chat with Paul Mill of Elitecycling who is an experienced (and successful) Elite cyclist, level 3 BC coach and authorised bike fitter - he runs a 'concession' at the centre - youll see the bike set up in the corner or the room. good luck

I went to a physio on the NHS a while ago for cycling related knee pain. She was fantastic and free!! - at the Dulwich Hospital. I suppose it's pot luck who you get - she was a cyclist and said it was nice to see someone who wasn't an old granny with a broken hip.
