Request from Dermot Macward to publicise record attempt by Alan Bate: =============================================== Hello Bob, I’m wondering if you can help out. My name is Dermot Macward, I run Red Spokes www.redspokes.co.uk .. My friend Alan Bate is attempting to set the world record for cycling around the world. As you possibly know the record is officially held by Mark Beaumont who completed the ride in 195 days. Alan is going to try to complete it in an incredible 99 days. His aim is to do between 175 to 200 miles a day for 99 days. To find out more about Alan and his challenge check out his website. http://www.worldcyclingrecord..com As one of Alan’s main sponsors, we’re trying to raise awareness of his challenge. Would it be possible you could inform your members of his challenge and ask if anyone would be interested in joining Alan whilst he undertakes the British leg of the ride? He will be coming in to the UK via Portsmouth, cycling up to London, and back down to Hastings then onwards to Dover, all in one day. If anyone in the club is interested in finding out more please ask them to contact us for more information. Dermot Dermot MacWard Red Spokes Adventure Tours 29 Northfield Road . London .. N16 5RL .
