The level of service needed will depend on the age and type of bicycle and the amount of use it has had. We would only ever carry out the most economical level of service for your bike to keep the cost to you to a minimum. Carried out by a City and Guild or Cytech Level 2 qualified mechanic. Parts are charged as extra unless stated.
First Service £10
If you have bought a bike from a high street store in the last couple of months but can’t find the time to take it or don’t want to leave it in the shop overnight, call us out and we will check it over and adjust brakes and index the gears.
Brake Service £25 inc cables.
New inner and outer cables fitted, wheel rims degreased and brakes aligned.
Basic Service £30
(Ideal if the bike’s been in storage for a while or you want to make sure it’s safe).
-Frame and forks checked visually.
-Gears indexed.
-Wheel hubs and rims checked for damage and wear, hubs adjusted if necessary.
-Wheel axle nuts/quick release checked for tightness.
-Brakes checked and adjusted.
-Bolts checked and tightened to correct torque.
-Tyres checked for tread wear/damage and inflated to correct pressure.
-Headset checked and adjusted if required.
-Chain and cassette, checked for wear.
-Saddle adjusted to fit rider if required.
-Advice on any further work needed.
-single speed subtract £5
Intermediate Service £50
(Recommended every 6 to 12 months if you use the bike for commuting or prior to a triathlon or race).
As above, but also includes:
- Frame cleaned.
- Bottom bracket checked and tightened if required.
- Chain and cassette, checked for wear, cleaned and re-lubricated.
-New inner and outer gear and brake cable replaced, but only if needed.*
-Wheels trued.
*Add £5 for each cable replaced.
Advanced Service £80
Full Strip Down, Clean and Rebuild
As above but also includes:
-Full strip down, check, clean and re-greasing of all components.
-Chase and face bottom bracket.
---Wheel Hubs disassembled, cleaned, regreased and bearings replaced.
-Add £5 for each cable if replacement is needed.
-Add £40 for hydraulic disc brakes.
To buy or Not to Buy? £10
Check frame gears, brakes, hubs and wheels and do a written report of the likely cost of work that is needed.
Any replacement parts that are needed will be charged as extra unless stated..
-New Bike Build from Box and PDI (pre delivery inspection) £40.
Includes setting up brakes, gears and truing wheels. Bike set up to British Standard BS6102 pt1, 1992.

£25 Brompton/Dutch bicycle/Hub Gear, rear puncture (including new inner tube)
