Now is the time to action those well-meant commitments to train harder and better this year. The spring series of roller training sessions will start next Thursday (10th Jan) and run through to the 14 th March at the Dulwich Sports Club just off Burbage Rd.
Why rollers? Apart from the bleeding obvious advantage of training without getting soaked to the skin, roller training helps improve pedaling technique, increased cadence as well as improving our old friend, cardiovascular fitness.
Riding rollers is not as difficult as most imagine-full training and encouragement is given and it is unusual for even the most inept to take more than half an hour to get the hang of it.
The series is run Bill Wright from Herne Hill Youth and myself- the Youths work out from 7 until 8 and the adults start at 8pm. An hour is quite enough.
Alas nothing is free, and to cover the costs of the hall we have to charge adults £35 for the series and youths £25. Bring cheques made payable to HHYCC on your first night.
Let me know if you are planning to come along- there are a dozen or so places in both sessions.
