Age categories for racing are as follows

Youth C Under 12 born in 2001 or 2002
From 1st Jan of year in which 11th birthday falls to 31st December of year in which 12th birthday falls

Youth B Under 14 born in 1999 or 2000
From 1st Jan of year in which 13th birthday falls to 31st December of year in which 14th birthday falls (or upgraded from Youth C).

Youth A Under 16 born in 1997 or 1998
From 1st Jan of year in which 15th birthday falls to 31st December of year in which 16th birthday falls (or upgraded from Youth B).

Junior born in 1995 or 1996
From 1st Jan of year in which 17th birthday falls to 31st December of year in which 18th birthday falls.

Essential things to do now:

• Ensure you have a Race Licence
  
• Get your gears checked (the rules govern the gear ratios you are allowed to ride with) - best way is call Richard at Balfe's Bikes 020 7732 4170 mention you are a DP or HHYCC member and they will give you a generous discount and your club will pay for the 1st £25 worth of work.

Dulwich Youth League

I will be running a Dulwich Youth League covering the Palace series- the league will be based on your 6 best results over the summer- points, prizes and general hero worship for the winner capped by Cup presented by the Chairman at next year's Award ceremony.

Juniors- (check your licence, it will confirm your category) must pre- enter the races on Rider HQ www.riderhq.com/events/66824/crystal-palace-crits-1-junsen. You don't have to pay when booking but you have to pay when signing on. Sign on is at Cadence and you will be racing in the main race which starts at 7.15. Aim to be signing on by 6.45.

Youths- (check your licences) can enter on the line and the sign on is near the race start line (normal place). Your race starts at 6.45- aim to be at the Park by 6.15 at the latest.

Remember:

You need a BC race licence to compete
Get your gears checked.
Give yourself a chance- ensure your bike is in decent working condition with road tyres - call Richard at Balfes 020 7732 4170 to get help.

FYI If is raining or has been wet during the day the races may be cancelled- if in doubt check www.dulwichpargaon.com before setting out.
