The route will start at Ranmoor Common and covers approx 30 km of some of the best off road riding in the South East - not entirely sure what type of technical trail features (rocks, roots 'n' stuff) we will come across, but be prepared for loads of flowing trails, short up hill nasties, fantastic views and mud in reasonable quantities.
We will meet at the velodrome at the normal time - 9 am and depending on numbers will either drive to the start point or ride to Clapham Junction and catch a train- to help planning can you let me know whether you will be riding and can offer lifts.
We anticipate that you will be riding until 4 pm, so bring:
Lunch and adequate drink
spare inner tubes and pump
lights
warm kit (you will be getting wet and dirty, so not your best shorts)
some clothes to change into for return journey
money for train fare/emergency tea and buns
Helmets must be worn through out the ride
You can see the proposed Saturday route from your British Cycling Members dashboard. Login and click through the My Mapping links and search for rides within 10km of postcode RH5 6SR. Ours is prefixed with HHYCC. You can download a GPX file for your bike sat nav if you have one.
DP Youth members- Dave and I have 2 spare bikes suitable for older teenagers- I know Nick wants to use one, let me know if anyone wants the other.
It will be a little more hassel than one would like to get to the start point, however once there you will appreciate the effort- the riding is excellent and you will have seriously good fun.
There will be no specific youth road ride this coming week end. Regular attendees of the Saturday youth group are welcome to join any of the adult groups on the usual Saturday Ride.
Regards
Charlie
