Gorrick MTB last week end
Fantastic turnout from Herne Hill Youth- a sea of light blue enthusiasm. Tremendously fun flowing course to ride, I know, I took my time to enjoy it. In the under 13's Joseph Blackmore took fourth place supported by Max Lawson and Dru Dennis. Titouan and Harry rode well in the Juvenile Male race whilst the laurels must shared between Young Argent, only seconds off the podium in the Youth male race and Stan who shot off faster than the whippet crying out as he passed Dave 'ah this is the spinny bit, I really love it' trashing Mr Ress in the process . Well done to all of you- the less said about the coaches results the better.
Saturday 29th March, Youth and Junior ride
This will now be a regular feature, open to all DP and HHYCC members 14 and above (+HHYCC members aged 13 who are regularly racing). Those that raced in the Juvenile and Youth categories in the Gorrick on Sunday really ought to be joining these rides in preference to the normal 11 o'clock HHYCC sessions.
Both groups, Juniors and Youths will leave the velodrome together and split along the way, the youths will broadly follow the DP Saturday route while those Juniors who want a longer ride will be lead on an extension at a brisker pace.
Meet at the velodrome at 8.45 to set off at 9 am, finishing with tea and cake at 12.30 at Café Paradou or Cadence on Crystal Palace Parade. Normal rules apply:
Events over the Easter Holidays
Jason Catamole and BC have organised several training events to be run over the Easter holidays at Hog Hill, Herne Hill and at Cyclo Park. All those who attended the Thursday evening training sessions are most welcome to join. Note these generally need to be pre-booked- so get yourselves organised. Junior Chain Gang on Thursday evening
I am still perplexed by the lack of adult riders out on a Thursday evening- however we carry on with them for the next few weeks and see what happens. Worse case scenario is that we move the session to the DP Wednesday Chain Gang.
