Despite the drizzle, some seriously decent racing at last week’s Dulwich World Champ’s, Arnav, Joe and Will set a furious pace, I know, as they set off with the Super Vets and trashed us. Will started well keeping with the bunch for most of the race, whereas Joe held in but just couldn’t beat Arnav who finally won the Junior race. I expect great things from both Joe and Will this Spring, and wish Arnav well at Cambridge.
The Youth A race was run in conjunction with the novices and Tituouan deserved his win, riding strongly and holding his own in the bunch – a great achievement bearing in mind he was racing with guys twice his age. Credit must go to Albert who turned up for a gentle pootle in the countryside and found himself thrust into his first ever race.
The Cross at Gunpowder Park proved to be a fast and furious course, congratulations to Abbi for her victory in the Juniors, and well done to Freddie coming 5th beating Titouan (who had a busy weekend) Joe Mulligan, Eddie and Max in the Youths A and B.
I look forward to seeing all of you lot out on the Saturday rides and Thursday chain gangs.

Also, there is a Cross race at Hillingdon on Sunday, but it really is a very long way to go and Herne Hill will be far far far better, but I do have to let you know.

Attendance by anyone who is racing apsires to race or just wants to get fitter and better in any discipline be it road, MTB, cross or track next year, this series of training rides are highly recommended. Jason Catemole and I will be running them along the same lines John Scripps established last winter, ie a chain gang followed by another form of torture and these 2 hour sessions will as well as being great fun, will build your speed, strength and stamina over the winter - you’ll reap the rewards in the spring.
Arrive at the velodrome around 7pm to start at 7.30 ending with lights out at 9pm sharp, each session will cost £3 and are open to riders aged 12 to 19. Please ensure you bring a completed Parents Consent form (attached) with you on your first evening.
NB Those without road bikes will be able to borrow one of the new HHYCC road bikes.
There will be no further Junior Chain gangs until March.
