Some fine efforts on Saturday on the Dulwich Hill Climb, highlight must be Louis winning the Junior category in a very creditable 5.03 only slightly slower than Joe at 4.46. Eddie won the Youth B category. These riders were cheerfully supported by Albert and Harrison. Good to see such a strong Youth and Junior presence in this well loved event.
This Saturday – 25th October – Cross/MTB training on Mitcham Common
More off road fun and adventure, Dave and I will be leading a ride out Mitcham Common where we will run some skills sessions to help you in your Cross racing.
Arrive at the velodrome at 8.45 to leave at 9, and return to the velodrome at approx. 1 pm. Cross and MTB bikes are suitable.
Part of the ride will be on the road so normal rules apply:
• DP/HHYCC & BC membership required
• Helmets must be worn
• Wear suitable clothing for the season- it’s getting colder and wetter now
• Bring copious quantities of drink and some food
• Spare inner tubes that fit
• Emergency and money
• Telephone number of parent or rescuer on a piece paper
• If this is your first ride a signed parent’s consent form.
Parents/Guardians/Rescuers- you must be contactable and able to collect your charge should the need arise.
There is no London League Cross this weekend
but there is a 4th Cat Road race ‘Apres’ at Gravesend Cyclo Park – details on RiderHQ.
Wednesday Evening DP Chain Gangs on the track
Dulwich Junior members are welcome to join these sessions as well as or instead of the Thursday evening session.
Thursday Chain Gangs on the track
For those that missed this evening’s meet, by the way an impressive turnout despite the drizzle– don’t forget these sessions. £3 per evening and you need to bring a signed parents consent form with you on your first ride.
Advance warning:
Sunday 9th November Gorrick Autumn series.
I would like to see Dulwich Junior team racing in this event so I’ll be arm twisting suitable candidates. This will, I believe, be the first time Dulwich have ever targeted a mountain bike race, so it will your chance for immortality in the DP story. www.gorrick.co.uk
