Mixed bag of results from you lot last weekend, Freddie and Titouan represented the London League in the Inter Area Cross thingy and despite various mechanical s they both finished in the midfield, so well done.
Closer to home in the Gorrick, Joe Mulligan takes the Laurels for the week with his 3rd in the Youth race, Eddie a creditable 5th in the Juvenile Male (Juvenile Male - sounds a bit like a serious Biological term rather than an MTB Race Category) and the first ever Dulwich Youth MTB team of Louis, Harrison and Jake finished in the Sport category. Quite a turnout from both clubs - I trust you all enjoyed yourselves.
It was good to see so many of you out on the MTB/Cross ride on Saturday and my thanks go to Jake, Hugo and Stan for coaching part of the session so capably - good to have some coaches who, for once, know what they are doing…………………….
This Saturday – 15th November - Road session on climbing
We will be riding out towards my favorite local climb, Old Pol Hill, where we will run a session on climbing and by default a bit of work on descending. Usual drill, meet at the velodrome by 8.50 to leave at 9 and returning to Cadence for 1 ish. Those that want to borrow road bikes please ensure you arrive early. This ride is suitable for strong Youth and Junior riders only, ie those of you who are (or ought to be) attending the Thursday evening cluster session on a regular basis.
Part of the ride will be on the road so normal rules apply:
Cyclo Cross Sunday 16th- Gravesend
It’s back with round something, held at Cyclopark at Gravesend. I have never raced cross there, but it ought to be a good circuit and well worth the trek to Kent. Check details on www.londonxleague.co.uk
MTB Enduro Sunday 23rd - Bracknell
Bit of an MTB challenge for youth and juniors only, in short an Enduro is long MTB race where the emphasis is on distance as opposed to speed- or so they say. In my experience its about both and is hence great fun. If you are going to enter, do it on line and soon, these events sell out well before and there is no entry on the day. FYI it clashed with the London League in Chailey
Thursday Chain Gangs on the track
Any one racing or wanting to race or taking part in the Saturday rides should be doing these sessions on a regular basis now. 7.00 pm, £ 3 per session- bring a parent’s consent form to your first one.
