Alas the results of last Sunday’s satisfyingly challenging Cross have yet to be posted, however I understand that Joe Mulligan managed to beat Titouan by a place in the youth race. Not sure how Abby did in her race, Stan put in a strong performance in the seniors but this week’s star has to be Louis for his sheer determination to finish what was probably one of the most technical cross courses in the series.
This Saturday – 22nd November - MTB/Cross on climbing and descending
Building on the climbing theme of the last 2 weeks we will be running a ride/session on rhythm climbs and reasonably steep descents (as opposed to drop offs) Riding out to Jewels Wood just south of Addington and return via Keston, Hayes and Coney Hall. While cross bikes will be fine for this trip, if you have an option, come on a mountain bike. The total distance we’ll cover will be approx 20 miles so this ride is suitable for stronger riders only. Usual drill, meet at the velodrome by 8.50 to leave at 9 and returning to Cadence slightly later than normal, I suspect between 1.30 and 2 pm.
Part of the ride will be on the road so normal rules apply:
DP/HHYCC & BC membership required
Helmets must be worn
Wear suitable clothing for the season- it’s getting colder and wetter now
Bring copious quantities of drink and some food - you will be out for sometime.
Spare inner tubes that fit
Emergency and money
Telephone number of parent or rescuer on a piece paper
If this is your first ride a signed parental consent form.
Parents/Guardians/Rescuers- you must be contactable and able to collect your charge should the need arise.
Cyclo Cross Sunday 23rd
Chailey - which is out towards Haywards Heath. I have never raced on the circuit, all I know is that last year the course went through a farm yard complete with authentic countryside type smelly stuff. Check details on www.londonxleague.co.uk
Thursday Chain Gangs on the track
Any one racing or wanting to race should be doing these sessions on a regular basis now. 7.00 pm, £ 3 per session- bring a parent’s consent form to your first one.
