Pretty active weekend from some of you last weekend, we had presence the the Imperial Winter series at Hillingdon (road) and Gorrick Winter Series (mud).
Joe Clifford shouldn’t be disappointed with his result of 17th, for those who don’t know the time difference between 1st and last in the bunch crossing the line in a road race is normally measured in milliseconds. It seems he rode a good race, almost curbed his natural instinct to lead the entire pack and was pipped at the sprint. Next time Joe, next time…………..
Meanwhile back in Camberley, the first of the Gorrick Spring series drew out a number of entrants - Chapeau this week go to Dan Tulett a young lad who cut his teeth with HHYCC, he won the Elite Men’s race with some breathtaking lap times.
Don’t be disheartened dear reader, there were some good times and achievements from the other mere mortals, Titouan beating Muligan into 7th place with a reasonable average lap time of 24.34, Stan 6th in the Sport (23.49) Eddie 8th (30.52) and Amelia 4th (32.52) in the Junveniles. These times compare well with those achieved by your beloved coaches - Stan you are now officially faster than all your coaches.
Saturday Ride 24th January - Off Road Round trip to Addington
It’s still too cold to be running road rides, so we will be running another off road ride to the woods at the back end of Addington and Keston. This weeks ride will be more an endurance ride, distance approx 30 miles with some short skills sessions on short steep hill climbing.
Meet at the velodrome at the normal time 8.50 to return to Cadance at around 1.30 The ride is suitable for stronger or older riders on mountain or cross bikes.
Part of the ride will be on the road so normal rules apply:

Helmets must be worn
Wear suitable clothing for the season- prepare for cold
Bring copious quantities of drink and some food - you will be out for sometime.
Spare inner tubes that fit
Emergency and money
Telephone number of parent or rescuer on a piece paper
If this is your first ride a signed parental consent form.
Parents/Guardians/Rescuers-You’re welcome to join us however if you can’t/don’t want to join in please ensure you are contactable and able to collect your charge should the need arise.
Cross Team Champs 1st February
This race is the grand finale of the London League series, all the awkward and competitive point scoring stuff will have finished and while we would like there to be a winning HHYCC or Dulwich team in every category the emphasis of these races is on fun.
Both HHYCC and DP will be entering in a series of teams into this race, jointly the clubs ought to be entering at least 7 teams but we would like this to be more……..
