It’s the finale of the Cross season on Sunday, both clubs have entered several strong and impressive teams, the weather is set to be fine and the course is normally one of the best in series, so what could possibly go wrong? Bill has orgainised the HHYCC teams and I those of Dulwich Paragon. Details of the DP teams are on the DP Forum - look under the Cyclo Cross bit. If you have been left out - speak out now, there is no entry on the day for teams.
If you need a lift, don’t be shy - let either Bill or myself know and we’ll see what can be done.
Saturday Ride 31st January - Road ride.
Dave Rees will be leading a road ride out to Kent, broadly following the published DP Saturday route. He’ll tailor the length and pace to those who turn up.
Meet at the velodrome at the normal time 8.50 to return to Cadence at around 1.30 The ride is suitable for stronger or older riders on road bikes.
The ride will be on the road so normal rules apply:
DP/HHYCC & BC membership required
Helmets must be worn
Wear suitable clothing for the season- prepare for cold
Bring copious quantities of drink and some food
Spare inner tubes that fit
Emergency money
Telephone number of parent or rescuer on a piece paper
If this is your first ride a signed parental consent form.
Parents/Guardians/Rescuers-You’re welcome to join us however if you can’t/don’t want to join in please ensure you are contactable and able to collect your charge should the need arise.
Wednesday 28th DP Evening Chain Gangs
It’s good to see a few of you older riders infiltrating these sessions, however next week’s session is designated ‘fast’ and is thus only suitable for those 17 years plus. Starts at 7 pm, DP/HHYCC membership required.
Thursday Chain Gangs on the track at Herne Hill
These sessions are gearing up to preparing you for the opening of the track and road season, no names but if you are currently regularly racing the cross series and want to up your game you must make these sessions a priority, they are an invaluable form of base training. Starting at 7pm with a fee of £3. Bring a completed Parents consent form to your first session.
Weekend Trips
Holmbury- March 28th/29th, we will most likely ride down on the 28th (off road) and explore Leith Hill and the surrounding area on the 29th. This date is proving well popular - so book sooner rather than later if you want to stay over at the hostel.
