The first round of the Beastway XC races is on at Redbridge Cycling Centre (Hog Hill) this coming Wednesday, with Senior's races kicking off at 7:30pm. I'm going to try and skive off work on Wednesday afternoon to make sure I get there on time, I hope to see some other Dulwich flying the flag Online entry is available from www.britishcycling.org.uk/events/details/129643/Hackney-GT-Beastway-Round-1#entryAlvaro

Last night's round was great fun, was interesting seeing Hog Hill from a non-road perspective Quite a challenging race that required a lot of efforts, had a couple of wipeouts but I was straight back on the bike. I managed 6 laps all in, I felt exhausted at the end of it - I still do now as I'm typing this! Uncategorised results up at: www.facebook.com/groups/527108233993954/permalink/905696592801781/Looks like I managed 11th in the Sports category, Charliecod got 2nd in the Grand Vets, and @sophie and @lucy got 1st and 2nd in the women's. There was a Dulwich Youth with Charlie, but I'm unsure on his name. Alvaro

Un-named youth in question was HHYCC rider Titouan Bethelemy, a name to watch. He came in second, just 10 seconds behind the leader, so all in all some good results for Dulwich and friends of Dulwich.
An interesting course with loads of new bits thrown in, looking forward to next week's adventure.

After missing out last week's round due to illness, I'm planning on heading up to Hog Hill on Wednesday (10th June) for round 4, anyone else coming along?

Err, yeah, skills were a bit thin on the ground at times last night, you saw the complete b88ls up I made of that uncharacteristically difficult climb on the trial lap............believe me the little faux pas behind the cafe was a mere entree, my first laps weren't loaded with textbook examples of how to ride a mountain bike. Still important words in your post are 'I was behind you' and I'll take 'thought that was unlike you' as a compliment. Can't have been that bad as I came 3rd in the 'those who are old enough to know better' category. Charlie

It's been a pretty cool series which has sadly now come to a close after 8 rounds - plenty of pain and suffering endured! Congratulations goes to Charliecod for getting 3rd overall series place for the Grand vets! Also congratulations to @sophie (absent last night!) and @lucy who got 1st and 3rd place overall in the women's series category! And a big shout out to Titouan from the Herne Hill Youth section who got 3rd in the championships last night, and 1st overall in his category for 2015. A great set of results for Dulwich all round! Thanks Álvaro, it's been a great series and the best ever for Dulwich in terms of attendence and results.
Thanks must go Russ, Michael and friends for putting the series on, it's a heck of a lot of work especially when one considers that a new course has to be designed, built and cleared away every week. Bravo to GT Hackney.

Thanks, and ditto from me - such a fun series and brilliantly organised! Gutted to miss the series finale last week due to holidays, certainly looked like a lot of fun! Great results all round. Roll on next year!?
