The inaugural women's race round table took place on the 29th May. Hosted by Dulwich Paragon and sponsored by Rapha, the event brought together clubs and teams who actively share an interest in women's road racing in London and the South East.
The aim of the round table was to share best practice and see how best to drive forward the opportunities for women in racing in our region- whether that be training, support or racing, and how this will look in 2016 and beyond.
The round table agreed that there were a good amount of opportunities available for women in the region, but that communication was lacking not just between riders but also event organisers. Greater networking and building a sense of community within the region is needed, at all levels, but particularly amongst those just starting out in racing. Some clubs around the table including Dulwich were able to share experiences about how this has worked for them in practice.
It was fantastic to see such lively discussion, and also a willingness to now drive these actions forward. The round table will be renamed the London Women's Racing Forum and further details about the plans will be released shortly, along with social media links.
Summary minutes of the round table will be available. Please contact beth@dulwichparagon.com to receive a copy or to register your interest about the LWRF.
Please contact Beth Hodge, Libby Gordon or Heather Rankin for more info.

The next Round Table is due to take place next Monday 10 August at Rapha in Soho 6.30 for 7pm prompt start. The second RT event admin has been handled by Jane at London Phoenix, and this just shows how as clubs we are working together already.
We will be discussing the usual topics over a well stocked cheese board courtesy of Rapha, along with securing the committee for the London Women's Racing league which we are re-starting for 2016.
Please pass on the word to those who you think may be interested- clubs, individuals, organisers or otherwise.
If you would like to attend please RSVP to me either on here or to beth@dulwichparagon.com
Minutes (as mentioned above) form the first RT are available.
Cheers
Beth

Hi, I've never done any racing but would like to give it a try. Would it be a good idea to come to this evening or is it more for women who've done racing?

Thanks for asking Heidi
The second London Women's Racing Forum was really well attended- lots of clubs and new faces, and lots of positive and creative talk. The main outcomes were a list of thoughts and ideas to take back to the surrey league and the BC regional meetings, and we have also got together a solid working group which will action the re-start of the London League from 2016.
Round Table will happen every 3-4 months headed up by Dulwich, and supported by another club. This time round it was London Pheonix. The idea to promote better relationships between the clubs.
Minutes and actions will be published shortly (i.e. when I've had a chance to write them up...!)
As always, please indicate your interest here or contact me direct!
Beth
