Oliver Scott - the main man - spends half his driving boats around the world, moaning about his fitness, yet when on land pulls in a 2nd place in the 4th cat crit at Winchester followed by a 4th at Goodwood, which makes him the first of his year to earn the coveted 3rd cat status. Chapeau and very well done, you’ve worked hard to achieve this.
(Joe/Kaspur - the secret is a little smiley face on your handle bars………………)
Palace this saw some dramatic improvements in various riders racing nous, both Titouan and Max rode tactically and to great effect, coming 2nd in their various categories, ably supported by Davies, Levett and Woleston.
Time Trialing, Harry Must last Thursday - Kaspur put in a respectable lap at mid 25 mins, good to see Will back on his bike, you’ll beat your father next time - for sure and a fine starting performance from Eddie.
Saturday 6th - Off road Ride and a bit of hill work.
This week we will be leading an off road ride heading out towards Cuckoo Wood and Knockholt. Ideally suited for Mountain Bikes, however you’ll survive on a Cross bike. Overall distance will be 25/30 miles - so quite long.
Usual stuff - meet at the velodrome at 8.50 am and we’ll be back at Cafe Paradou around 1.30. Note the weather is set fair for Saturday - so it’s important you bring some drink along with the normal inner tubes ‘n’ stuff.
Those regular riders who don’t like this muddy stuff should join one of the faster paced DP rides.
Parents/Guardians and Carers are welcome to join the ride, however should this concept not appeal, you need to contactable and available to collect your charge should the need arise.
Licenses, Parents Consent forms and other tedious but important stuff.
Many of you may appreciate that I try to keep the bureaucratic nonsense down to the minimum, however there are some rules that need to be applied.
Race Licenses - it’s a condition of the Palace Crits that you have to have a full race licence - not a Provisional, to compete. I understand that Dave Joss had to, with enormous reluctance, turn away an Espoire this week for this reason. If you’re racing - get a full license - end of, after all you don’t get points with the freebie one.
Time Trial Parent’s consent. Time Trials are not run under BC rules and therefore have a different parent’s consent form. Anyone under 18 needs to present a fully completed one each time they enter a time trial and this includes the DP Club TT held on a Thursday.
BC Parents Consent. I do need to have one of these from every rider under 18, generally the one you gave me on your first ride will do for 6 months.
Next week………packed with opportunity, so revision on Monday and Friday then.
